Sustainability

At Gillards we are committed to operating in a responsible and sustainable way to minimise our impact on the environment. This applies to both the general running of our business, and the services we provide to our customers.

As well as complying with all relevant regulatory requirements, we work continuously to monitor and reduce our impact on the environment. We have incorporated environmental factors into our core business decision-making and continue to improve and increase employee awareness and training.

Doing our bit.

We aim to use zero non-recyclable or non-biodegradable materials in our packaging. Bubble wrap and plastic tape has been replaced with eco-friendly paper products. We use forestry-commissioned packaging and recycle all of our packaging waste where possible.

Digital handsets are used to pick orders, reducing the amount of paper used in the warehouse. We minimise the use of paper in the office whenever possible and use only recycled or recyclable products.

Our 75 KwH system, comprising over 200 solar panels, power over 30% of our site. We plan to install more panels over the next 2 years.

LED lighting is used throughout our buildings. Sensors are used in the main warehouse areas to ensure that only occupied areas are lit.

We have over 13,000 Sq.M (more than 3 acres) of land around the site reserved for wildlife and low-intensity grazing.

If clients ask us to dispose of their goods we donate these to charities and local community support groups.

Zero Waste, donation
